Jared Bradley Tubbs, native to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, is a composer, percussionist, and music technologist pursuing his DMA in Music Composition at the University of Georgia. Previously, he has earned a Master of Arts in Music and Master of Music in Music Composition from Western Michigan University, studying under Dr. Lisa Coons and Dr. Christopher Biggs. Additionally, he has earned a Bachelor's degree in Music Composition at the University of Alabama, studying under Dr. Amir Zaheri.
Since beginning his studies, Jared Bradley Tubbs has had numerous presentations of his research and creative work. His collaboration with choreographer Rebecca Salzer for the premiere of his work To Whom It May Concern for fixed media and dancers received multiple performances during the 2016 Alabama Repertory Dance Theatre season. Performance: Anxiety, a work for spoken word and live electronics, was selected for performance at the New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival and SCI Online National Conference in 2021. His installation, Library of Babel, was selected for the 2022 Electronic Music Midwest festival, and an improvisatory work created from the installation, Babel On, was chosen for performance at the 2022 SEAMUS National Conference. His compositional and research interests center around exploring extramusical concepts through experimental music and music technology.
